About The Workshop
Ashtanga has a reputation for being difficult and closed off, which is a shame, because the sequence itself is the most teachable thing in yoga. This workshop takes three hours to walk through it slowly, with time to ask questions that a regular class never has room for.
Liam breaks the primary series into its four parts and teaches each one in turn: the salutations, the standing sequence, the seated sequence and the finishing order. You will practise everything at least twice, once slowly and once at count.
What's Included
- Three hours of teaching with Liam Davis
- A printed sequence card to take home
- Mats, blocks and straps provided
- Modifications taught alongside every posture
- Tea afterwards
- Sixteen places, so everyone gets seen
- No previous ashtanga required

What You'll Experience
You practise the whole sequence twice: once slowly, with room to stop and ask why a shape is where it is, and once at count, so you feel how the thing actually moves. By the end you will have met every posture in the primary series rather than just heard about them.
What To Bring
Why Join This Workshop?
Because the set sequence is genuinely useful whether or not you ever join a Mysore room. Once you know it, you have a complete practice you can do anywhere, in any hotel room, for the rest of your life.
Reserve Your Spot
Book online or at the desk. Workshops usually fill in the last fortnight, so if you are thinking about it, think about it early.

FAQ
Frequently Asked
Questions

Still have a question?
Send us a message and we'll come back to you within one business day.
Do I need experience to start?
No. Every class is taught with options rather than expectations, and our Fundamentals and Gentle sessions assume no prior practice at all. Tell your teacher it's your first time and they will look after you.
What should I bring to my first class?
Comfortable clothes and a water bottle. Mats, blocks, straps and bolsters are all provided, and there are showers and lockers in the changing rooms.
Can I come without a membership?
Yes. Drop-in classes and pay-as-you-go class packs sit alongside our memberships, so you can practise as often or as rarely as suits you.
How early should I arrive?
Fifteen minutes before your first class, and around five for every class after that. It gives you time to check in, settle and set up your mat without rushing.
Can I pause or cancel my membership?
Pause or cancel anytime with 30 days notice. There are no joining fees and no lock-in contracts, and any unused class credits stay on your account.
Do you teach pregnant or injured students?
We do. Several of our teachers are qualified in pre and postnatal practice and in therapeutic yoga. Let us know before class so your teacher can adapt the session for you.
