Breath linked to movement

This is the studio's everyday flow class, and the one most people settle into once they are past the beginner stage. Movement is linked to breath, the sequence builds and then releases, and the hour has a clear shape you can rely on however the rest of the day is going.

You can expect

  • Sun salutations to build heat.
  • Standing sequences repeated on both sides.
  • One peak shape, introduced in stages.

The arc of the class

Ten minutes to arrive and warm up, twenty-five minutes of standing work that gets progressively stronger, fifteen minutes on the floor as things cool, and a real rest at the end. Whoever is teaching, that arc stays the same.

Level and options

Intermediate means you know sun salutations and can move without needing every step named. That said, options are always offered in both directions, and taking the easier one is not a demotion.

What the class builds

A clear arc

A warming start, a strong middle, a long close.

Options throughout

Emma offers a harder and an easier version of most shapes.

Breath as the pace

The breath sets the speed, not the person next to you.

Finding your level in the room

It runs several times a week with different teachers, so if the pace of one does not suit you, try another day before deciding.

A mid-paced flow that never feels like a race. Being given two versions of everything means I can take the strong one on a good day and the other one on a Tuesday. Both are fine here.

Get In Touch

Do I need experience to start?

No. Every class is taught with options rather than expectations, and our Fundamentals and Gentle sessions assume no prior practice at all. Tell your teacher it's your first time and they will look after you.

What should I bring to my first class?

Comfortable clothes and a water bottle. Mats, blocks, straps and bolsters are all provided, and there are showers and lockers in the changing rooms.

Can I come without a membership?

Yes. Drop-in classes and pay-as-you-go class packs sit alongside our memberships, so you can practise as often or as rarely as suits you.

How early should I arrive?

Fifteen minutes before your first class, and around five for every class after that. It gives you time to check in, settle and set up your mat without rushing.

Can I pause or cancel my membership?

Pause or cancel anytime with 30 days notice. There are no joining fees and no lock-in contracts, and any unused class credits stay on your account.

Do you teach pregnant or injured students?

We do. Several of our teachers are qualified in pre and postnatal practice and in therapeutic yoga. Let us know before class so your teacher can adapt the session for you.
